High-definition metal performances are set to hit Australia as Grammy Award-winning Californian icons, Deftones, return down under this November as part of their behemoth world tour.
The tour will decimate stages in Perth and Adelaide before hitting Melbourne and Sydney. Brisbane will see the finale show.
Snaring their first ever Australian no. 1 album, Gore, last month, Deftones have spent their career battling on the front-line, always pushing ahead stylistically and crafting crushingly effective metal tracks and breaking limits.
Deftones haven’t lost any of their creative spark. Their fire continues to grow into a conflagration of musical passion. They “are simply a brutal and out-of-control noise machine…always shattering the foundations of the buildings they play in” – NME.
Joining Deftones by support are Karnivool and Voyager.
Selling out most of their own national headline dates and having released their fourth studio album Imminent, Karnivool will embark on their first support slot in over ten years, showcasing their innovative live show on music lovers around the country.
Don’t miss this one-off opportunity to catch Deftones later this year.
“Much of Gore seems coated with a hazy, cloudy malevolence that constantly catches you off guard, as seething guitar passages infiltrate dreamy moments spearheaded by vocalist Chino Moreno's at-times ethereal vocals…” – Rolling Stone Australia (4 stars)
“Over 20 years and eight albums, Chino Moreno and his fellow Deftones have forged new paths in experimental hardcore, embracing trip hop, electronica, gothic and dream pop.” – NME (4 stars)
"Gore is easily Deftones’ most engaging record since White Pony, filled with carefully crafted hooks disguised as bridges and transition…As with all of their best music, it sounds like the brutal, beautiful result of the band being passionate enough to rip each other’s heads off." – Pitchfork
