Carole King’s Tapestry In Concert performs Carole King's multi-Grammy award winning album, "Tapestry", live (with no recorded tracks) in a sophisticated, “true to the original sound” format.
You would have seen the Carole King story in "Beautiful", now you can hear the songs as a full album sound being sung live by one of Australia's best female performers, Nicki Gillis.
Carole King wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on "Tapestry", several of which had already been hits for other artists such as Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and The Shirelles' "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" (in 1960).
Before "Tapestry" King also wrote numerous hits for other artists, hits such as: The Loco-Motion (Little Eva/Kylie Minogue), I’m Into Something Good (Herman’s Hermits/Marianne Faithful), Pleasant Valley Sunday (The Monkees) and You’ve Got A Friend (James Taylor). As a lead up to the live performance of Tapestry, these songs plus others are presented in a 45 minute set performed live by Suzy Leigh and The Fabulous Nickettes.
